Qualification Equivalent to an A.A. degree or higher required. Maintain a valid California Driver’s License. Must be able to work independently. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Chief Business Officer (CBO), the Sustainability Program Technician develops and supports District-wide sustainability programs and facilities-related programs to control energy usage and utility costs, reduce pollution, and improve resource conservation. The Sustainability Program Technician is responsible for monitoring the District's energy management program under board policy and the CBO’s guidelines for the purpose of reducing utility consumption. The Program Technician is expected to have an independent work ethic, good judgment capabilities, have the ability to maintain positive public relations. Sustainability Program Technician is expected to be computer literate, be able to interpret technical data, and demonstrate an ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical individuals under the guidance of the CBO. Specific Duties Include: • Assist, and make recommendations to the CBO on alternate energy sources, capital projects, consumption and general energy conservation measures. • Develop, recommend, and implement procedures to enhance or evaluate the viability or success of sustainability programs. • Develop and maintain contact with federal and state agencies and monitor state and national energy policy trends. • Provide input on contractual support activities (capital projects) related to energy management and the purchase of any products that affects energy consumption. • Maintain energy and water consumption records and data. Maintain records of federal energy conservation grants received by the district. • Participate in Sustainable Schools Committee, district wide Green Teams, and City of Palo Alto collaborations. • Prepare reports on status and success of program for District leadership, site administration, and the general community. • Provid
