Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Pupil Services, or assigned designee, the Social Worker assesses home, school, personal, and community factors that may affect a student’s learning. The Social Worker performs a variety of functions related to the implementation of interventions; and provides resources pertaining to students’ academic, welfare, and attendance challenges/concerns; identifies and provides intervention strategies for students and their families, including case management and crisis intervention; consults and collaborates with District clinicians, teachers, administrators, and other school staff regarding social and emotional needs of students; coordinates family, school, and community resources on behalf of students.

Education and Experience: 1. Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Social Work authorization. 2. Minimum of three (3) years of successful counseling experience (PPS Credential), preferred. 3. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with students or in an educational setting, preferred. 4. Demonstrated achievement as an educational leader with vision and strong interpersonal skills, including specific evidence of student academic improvement in a school setting as a result of the candidate’s leadership 5. Master’s Degree, required 6. Bilingual ability, preferred, but not required 7. Valid California Driver’s License District paid medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans are provided for employee and dependents, up to a $12,700 district contribution.
