Long-Term Substitute Teacher: Math 2022-2023 Description Presentation High School in San Jose, California is seeking an instructor to join the Math Department as a long-term substitute for portions of the current Fall semester 2022 and Spring semester beginning in February 2023. The substitute will be responsible for teaching high-school level math courses to students in grades 9-12 and class assignments include Algebra 1, Statistics, and AP Statistics. Compensation This position consists of up to 4 classes. Compensation is $100/class period/day (typically 2 class periods per day). Responsibilities Model for students the mission and values of Presentation High School Demonstrate subject matter competency and the ability to communicate that to high school students Devise a system of classroom order and discipline which contributes to the learning of all students Be available to students who need assistance Exercise professionalism at all times with students, parents, and colleagues

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications B.A. degree and single-subject teaching credential or Masters Degree in math or a related field. Relevant teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. A commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of Presentation High School. Willingness to adapt to an existing curriculum. Ability to work well with students, colleagues, and parents. A willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the Presentation community. A deep commitment to professional growth and interest in educational technology. Strong, proven teaching ability and passion for the academic subject. Knowledge of the latest pedagogy for effective classroom instruction and student learning. Excellent organization, verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills. Commitment to equity and inclusion.
