COACHING JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Coach Location: Hickman Middle School Salary: $1,500 stipend MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Prefer certificated teacher (Hickman staff given preference). 2. Experience and/or education in the athletic activity that is being supervised. REPORT TO: Athletic Director JOB GOAL: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. Qualifications ? First Aid and CPR cards that is valid throughout the season coached. ? Department of Justice and FBI (Hickman Business Office will arrange LiveScan fingerprinting at district expense) ? Current TB clearance. ? Outstanding technical knowledge of the skills and strategies of the sport and the ability to teach these skills to students and adults ? Previous coaching experience not required but strongly preferred ? Ability to positively lead, support, and organize a comprehensive program inclusive of parents, students, staff and community ? Ability to develop and foster a positive relationship with students, parents, staff and fans ? Ability to work with people in a constructive manner under stressful situations PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERSONAL QUALITIES: ? Uses sound and acceptable coaching techniques in all phases of the program. ? Organizes safe and effective practice sessions. ? Develops and adheres to an efficient and technically sound conditioning and injury prevention and treatment program. ? Establishes a working rapport with, and is directly responsible to, the Athletic Director and Principal. ? Adheres to all district and school policies regarding the athletic program. ? Strives to build good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and fans. ? Models good sportsmanship and enforces sportsmanlike behavior among the players at all times. ?
