Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will embrace Larchmont’s mission and introduce new ideas, systems, and initiatives to achieve further excellence, growth, and impact. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will report directly to the School Leader(s) and the Director of Operations and will be responsible for maintaining the proper functioning of internal and external buildings, this may include: facility maintenance and repairs, and help in the day-to-day operations. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant performs tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, safety, and custodial. This position requires a team player attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant has the ability to coordinate with Facilities Manager to communicate problems and collaborate on a solution to address issues across campuses. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant falls under the direction of the Operations Department and reports to the Facilities Manager and to the Director of Operations.

Minimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED • One to two years of related experience and/or training • TB Test clearance & DOJ fingerprinting clearance • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-directed while also able to work collaboratively with staff and management • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and work efficiently to meet deadlines • Strong communication (written and verbal), organization, and interpersonal skills • Excellent writing and analytical skills • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and motivated • Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance technics and willingness to problem solve
