We play a supportive role in the fulfillment of this vision in collaboration with educators at all levels of student development and in partnership with families, businesses, and community organizations. Our Alternative Education Division provides educational options to diverse student populations referred by local school districts, probation, and social services. We are currently recruiting for talented professional to serve as a Math Teacher for our ACCESS Division to plan and provide instruction to individuals in a Math and Advanced Placement Math program. Examples of teaching assignment include using seat time or independent study instructional models to provide art education to at-risk students in Community Based Programs (CBP), including charter schools primarily serving students between the ages of 18 and 26; delivery of educational services to incarcerated youth in Institutions who are going through the juvenile justice system; and offering educational support through the Community Home Education Program (CHEP) or Pacific Coast High School (PCHS) to families who choose to provide direct instruction to their child in the home or outside the traditional district school model. The current vacancy is located at Pacific Coast High School in Tustin, CA.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training Guidelines: Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities would be: • Bachelor or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. • Recent experience working in alternative educational settings or charter schools teaching at-risk students preferred. Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements: • Possession and maintenance of a valid Single Subject California teaching credential authorizing instruction in the subject area of Math at all levels of curriculum in a departmentalized setting. Intern eligible candidates are welcomed to apply with priority given to fully credentialed applicants. • Meet the Basic Skills Requirement through one of the methods listed on Form CL-667 on the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website - www.ctc.ca.gov. • English Learner (EL) Authorization: All new teachers hired under a Preliminary or Clear credential must possess an authorization to provide instruction for English Language Development (ELD) and Specially Designed Academic Instruction Delivered in English (SDAIE) to English learners. Appropriate credentials include a Single Subject Teaching Credential with English learner authorization; CLAD (Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development) or BCLAD (Bilingual Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development) authorizations; or Certificate of Completion of Staff Development (AB2913/SB395 training). • Meet the Basic Skills Requirement through one of the methods listed on Form CL-667 on the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website - www.ctc.ca.gov. **Preference will be given to fully credentialed teachers.**
