Job Summary

The Lawndale Elementary School District (LESD) has an immediate opening for a Community Wellness Outreach Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Director of Food Services. Requirements / Qualifications

Must attach a letter of interest, resume, and two recent (signed) letters of recommendation (with at least one being from a supervisor who evaluated you), along with a valid driver's license. Minimum Requirements: - Content expertise in nutrition and physical activity promotion. - Experience in program planning, evaluation, and grant management. - Ability to make effective presentations to both professional groups and the public. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Proficient in use of MS Windows-based programs, including Microsoft (MS) Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Valid California driver’s license and/or ability to secure timely transportation for off-site travel to a variety of community sites throughout the region. Education/Experience: - Master’s degree in public health, nutrition sciences, public policy, social work, or other relevant degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of experience implementing public health or social service programs in underserved communities or bachelor’s degree in a similar field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing grant-funded public health, social service and/or similar programs with a minimum of one (1) year implementing nutrition education and obesity prevention programs. - Experience providing administrative oversight (e.g. budget management, program tracking, reporting and staff management), assessment and evaluation, community engagement, and program implementation.
