DEFINITION Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, travel to school campuses to provide intensive behavioral intervention instruction and guidance to designated student(s) with special needs reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; perform a variety of clerical and supportive duties related to instructional activities. Incumbents are distinguished between other Instructional Assistants by performing individualized assistive physical and assistive educational support in the performance of daily activities as opposed to general support of instruction and certificated staff. Incumbents are distinguished from Instructional Assistant-Spec. Ed. (PH), in that One on One Instructional Assistants do not preform specialized medial treatments, administer medication or preform specialized feeding assistance.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; and one of the following: • An associates or higher college degree • The equivalent of at least two years of college credit (48 semester units) • Pass the Chaffey Academic Assessment Test Licenses and other requirements: Valid California Driver’s License. Driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier. (Proof of driver’s license and driving record must be submitted by the successful candidate(s) at time of hire.) Desired Qualification: Experience working with individuals who have special needs; valid First Aid & CPR certificates.
