Job Summary
The Events and Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing Tri-City Christian’s signature events, such as Grandparent’s Day, Veteran’s Day, The Annual Auction, and more. In partnership with the Director of Development, event implementation will serve internal and external audiences with a focus on advancing the school’s mission, vision, and values. Through the coordination of events and volunteer opportunities, this position will service the following departments: Admissions, Development, Academic Leadership, and the overall School Program (i.e.: Arts, Athletics, and Parent Action Committee). The Coordinator will develop relationships with outside hospitality partners to prepare year-long contracts and in-kind sponsors. The Events and Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the following (not intended to be all-inclusive): - Oversees the planning and execution of all signature, front-facing events for the Tri-City Christian School, especially the Annual Auction. - Secure in-kind support (in collaboration with the Director of Development) to offset the costs associated with producing and fulfilling benefits for donors. - Manage event budgets and track income and expense. - Work with the Director of Development and Leadership Team to determine event décor, entertainment, venues, and pricing strategy, when relevant. - Partner with marketing to execute event lists, invitations, and follow-up communications. - Partner with Parent Action Community to support their events and serve as their liaison to the school. - Supervise parent volunteer program, which includes event support opportunities. - Manage school volunteer opportunities to streamline processes in place. - Manage vendors for events, including scheduling of delivery, pick-up, and payment. - Work with Facilities for each event, requesting space, and technical support.
Requirements / Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel is necessary. - Ability to delegate and manage others. - Strong organizational and time management skills; maintain confidentiality. Education - Bachelor’s degree preferred Work Experience - Three years of recent events management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this work. Language Skills - Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to effectively respond to questions from staff, students, and families. Additional Requirements - A good, helpful attitude and a team spirit is the hallmark of staff at TCCS. Employees are encouraged to be active in their local churches. Attendance at weekly staff devotions is required as well as at all meetings announced by the principal or head of school.
