We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, non-tenure track ASC Counselor (Accommodation Service Center) located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Full-time ASC Counselors are assigned 1372 hours per work year which equates to 196 service days and are coordinated with the supervising administrator. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Student Services, and in coordination with the ASC Director, the ASC Counselor provides counseling and support services for the Accommodation Service Center Program. This position requires a significant amount of student contact with a diverse community college population as well as a range of additional duties. ASC Counselors are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing committees, and/or a variety of task forces and act as a liaison to instructional departments. The assignment may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus and off-campus work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling (attach transcripts); OR 2. A Master’s degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling psychology, education couseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, marriage family and child counseling (attach transcripts); OR 3. A Bachelor's degree in marriage and family therapy or in marriage, family and child counseling; AND posession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) (attach transcripts); AND either a. Fifteen (15) or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically related to people with disabilities; OR b. Completion of six (6) semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a postsecondary Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) Program or in a program dealing predominately or exclusively with people with disabilities; OR c. Two years of full time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following; 1. Counseling for students with disabilities, OR 2. Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph***
