Job Description Summary

 

Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of approved instructors for possible part-time teaching assignments in the Fine Arts Division. Assignments may be day, evening, or weekend classes at the San Luis Obispo Campus, the North County Campus, South County Center, or distance education.

Essential Functions & Qualifications

 

Required:

 

-Master's in fine arts, art, or art history;

 

OR

 

-Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in humanities from an accredited institution;

 

OR

 

-The equivalent. ((Candidates aplying on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment. OR

 

-A valid Community College credential in the discipline (If received prior to 1990, as the credential is no longer being issued).

 

Also Required:

 

-Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

 

Desirable:

 

-Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;

 

-2D experience in one or more of the following: color, drawing, painting, printmaking, 2D design OR ceramics experience;

 

-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.
