Salary Range: $4,965 - $6,103 per month

DEFINITION
Provide support for the institutional marketing and outreach campaigns including but not limited to electronic communication, advertising, events, and public information. Share information with students concerning a variety of district programs, including, application requirements, deadlines, transfer programs, eligibility requirements for both state and federal aid, registration, and testing procedures; to respond to student questions regarding the various student services programs, majors, general education requirements, and graduation requirements; to conduct extensive outreach services to potential students and families.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
• Receives direction from the Director of Marketing and Student Outreach.
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive District outreach, communication, and marketing plan focused on promoting the District as the College of choice and enhancing student recruitment and enrollment.
• Assist in the coordination of promotional and marketing projects; including advertising campaigns, social media marketing, and community outreach activities.
• Advise and share information with prospective students and families concerning District programs; refer students to various academic departments, campus services and offices for specialized assistance as appropriate.
• Utilize a variety of automated computer applications to update or modify reports; design and develop promotional literature, pamphlets, forms, displays, and web-site information on guidance services offered by the District.
• Coordinate the District's marketing outreach services including but not limited to scheduling presentation dates, campus visits, workshops, securing facilities and presenters.
• Develop and maintain a variety of electronic databases to track office records, reports, and presentations.
• Assist and provide outreach service information to K-8 elementary-middle and high schools through group presentations in the community.
• Participate in various special events including career and college nights at area schools; represent and promote the District; respond to inquiries and serve as a facilitator to educate students about college programs and resources.
• Collaborate with District departments to schedule staff, coordinate resources, student services, faculty and staff as well other campus resources as needed.
• Coordinate campus-wide events to meet the overall outreach goals of the District and the division.
• Oversee student ambassadors and coordinate training throughout the year.
• Maintain a variety of files and records including student transfers, department changes, and inform students of adjustments as needed.
• Attend professional group meetings to stay abreast of changes in financial aid and institutional policies and procedures.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Knowledge of:
• Principles, techniques, and objectives of marketing and communication as applied to a community college.
• Principles and procedures of financial aid awards and packages.
• Principles and procedures of student interviews and assessment.
• College and vocational education admission requirements.
• Organization, scheduling, and planning skills.
• College information, services, policies and procedures.
• Office procedures, and equipment including computers, word processing, Microsoft Power Point, and database software.
• Principles and practices of recordkeeping and electronic filing and record keeping.
• Community agencies and community-based resources.
Ability to:
• Conduct workshops and presentations to students, parents and college personnel.
• Conduct student interviews, recognize student needs, and make appropriate referrals.
• Apply eligibility criteria for Federal and State financial aid.
• Understand student support and success program process
• Work independently or in a team environment.
• Apply analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Provide information to students on the availability of programs and services.
• Respond to requests and inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods; extensive use of a computer keyboard; lift up to 30 pounds.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, marketing, or related field.
Experience:
• Two years of marketing outreach, enrollment activities, or academic advising experience.
Language:
• Fluency in both English and Spanish languages is highly desirable.
License or Certificate
• Possession of or ability to obtain a State of California driver's license.
