Position Title: After School Program Coordinator
Employment Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt, 10.5-month
Reports to: Assistant Head of School 7th & 8th

Position Summary: The After School Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all enrichment/academic programs for students in grades 7 and 8. The coordinator will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after school program and will be the liaison with parents/caregivers, school administration, and program staff. This position is responsible for planning and development of the creative learning environment and preparation of needed materials and supplies.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of a safe and structured after school learning environment following established Academy policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program and monitor the overall effectiveness of the program.
  • Build a curriculum of enrichment activities that create a cohesive learning experience for students.
  • Supervise pick up and ensure parents are adhering to pick up policies.
  • Perform clerical duties such as, preparing necessary materials, operating office equipment, making and answering phone calls as necessary and keeping to a schedule.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or 48 units of college required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with K – 12 youth required.
  • Valid CPR & First Aide certification required.
  • Bi-lingual/bi-literate English/Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic record-keeping and organization techniques.
  • Experience collaborating and working with a team.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, and drug test

  • Enjoys working directly with youth, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Takes initiative in student advocacy and support.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e., tables, chairs, food, water, etc.)
Modification to work schedule may be made based on need of the Academy.
