Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   

Essential Job Functions:

Assists Storekeeper and/or other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

Collects funds/receipts from school sites for the purpose of delivering funds/receipts to food service office.

Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders to designated sites.

Loads items (i.e. can food, frozen, fresh fruit, vegetables, supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of filling orders.

Maintains vehicles (i.e. fuel, oil, water, tires, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle.

Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.

Unloads items (i.e. can food, frozen, fresh fruit, vegetables, supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of distributing shipment to assigned site locations and/or individuals.

Job Requirements - Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division); to read procedures, write and speak distinctly; and to apply common sense understanding of detailed multi-step instructions.

Skills to perform multiple basic non-technical tasks.  Specific skills to apply pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; operate equipment used in trade; and prepare and maintain accurate records.

Abilities to deal with a variety of tasks that require significant interacting with persons that frequently change.  Specific abilities to adhere to safety practices; be attentive to detail; meet deadlines and schedules; and work under time constraints.  Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibility.  Moderate opportunity exists for significant impact (positive or negative) on the organization’s mission.

Working Environment: The job functions are generally performed in an indoor/outdoor environment requiring the following significant physical abilities; reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling; sensory speaking, hearing and visual.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements: Some job related experience is desired.

Licensing, Certification, Testing Requirements: Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance; Tuberculosis clearance; valid drivers license and evidence of insurability.

High school diploma or equivalent Selected candidate must be able to provide a current California drivers license and DMV printout.
