About the Employer
The Central Region School Insurance Group (CRSIG) is a Joint Powers Authority formed out of the California Government Code which allows public agencies to jointly maintain and operate an agency that serves a common purpose. CRSIG was formed in 1980 to establish programs for the insurance and risk management of school operations. The programs offered by CRSIG include Property & Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Vision and Dental benefits for school employees. Some of the programs are self-insured while others are fully-insured or a combination of both. CRSIG is administered by a Governing Board made up of representatives from each of the school district members. It is staffed by an Executive Director, Chief Operations Officer, Return To Work Specialist and Administrative Assistant and is served by multiple brokers, consultants and vendors.

Job Summary
Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance & Operations Specialist manages confidential and complex administrative, fiscal, and customer service functions. The Finance & Operations Specialist serves as a liaison with the public, vendors, board members, districts, covered employees, retirees and their dependents. In addition, the Finance & Operations Specialist manages the day-to-day financial, program operations and office operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 year of experience performing the full range of accounting functions; posting to, maintenance of and reporting from a multi-fund, general ledger including journal entries, management of a chart of accounts and investment and claims/trust account reconciliations
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a Joint Powers Authority and/or school district setting is desired
- Minimum of 3 years experience in administering insurance program operations is desired
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with Microsoft Office
- An employment entrance exam is required.
