Dublin Unified School District in Dublin, CA is seeking AVID tutors to assist students in the AVID tutorial process. AVID tutors are needed - See more detailed information below about the positions: Responsibilities: - Participate in paid AVID Tutor training - Help set up and put away desks/chairs/whiteboards as needed - Work with a small group of students (4-6) - Facilitate the tutorial process with your small group of students: - Support students in following the steps of the tutorial process - Ask questions to help students better understand the material (instead of just giving students the answer) - Help students ask their peers questions - Keep students on task and engaged - Maintain a professional relationship with students - Communicate with AVID Teacher Qualifications: - Enrolled in or graduated from a technical college or university. - Adults who have a 2 year or 3 year post-high school degree and who are interested in working with middle and high school students. - College students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 evidenced by college transcript. Tutor experience - Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with students and their teachers - Reliability - Experience using Google applications (Gmail, Google docs, Google drive) - Enjoys working with children ages 11-18
