Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a site administrator and assigned to certificated staff, an Instructional Aide: Special Circumstance Instructional Assistant (SCIA) assists a general education teacher and/or a Special Day Class (SDC) teacher in supervising the activities of an individual student or small groups of students; and performs related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
Districtwide – 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The following documents are required to be attached to the Edjoin application: -Resume or Summary of Experience -Three (3) Letters of Recommendation -ESSA Compliance Verification **Position may include lifting, toilet training and/or diapering. District paid medical, dental, and vision prescription plans are provided for employee and dependents.
Education and Experience: • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year experience working with children in an educational or learning environment. • Incumbents must meet requirements specified under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Special Qualifications upon hire for positions at a school site that is supported by Title I funds include: o Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR o Obtained an associate’s or higher degree (college level) OR o Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics. **Must provide verification of ESSA compliance to be considered for an interview
