ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the supervision of a Behavior Specialist, the direction of certificated personnel, and in collaboration with support staff, assists students as directed, with a focus on positive behavior intervention; implements specialized strategies to attain specific IEP/504 goals; assists teachers as needed, and does other related work as assigned. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of the student’s program. Record data as instructed by certificated staff members and/or Behavior Specialists. Attend staff training and workshops as directed to enhance, maintain, and develop skills. Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff on-site. Must be able to work with a variety of students of different ages and abilities. This position involves frequent and direct contact with staff and students; works in a school environment where students may engage in aggressive behavior. Must be able to maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Flexibility with day-to-day assignments which may include changing sites mid-day and working with new students. Demonstrate skills in decision making, problem solving, and conflict management.
