We serve students in Riverside county with site-based, home study, and a combination of home study/on-site programs accreditated by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Job Summary
The Counselor is under the direction of the school site administrator or assigned designee. This position is responsible for guidance/information services to students and parents, which assist students in making appropriate definitions relative to their attendance, educational, career, personal, and social development. Supervises students in out-of-classroom programs/activities, as needed; assists students in developing an educational plan and continually works with them to meet their goals.

THIS POSITION IS A FULL TIME COUNSELOR FOR OUR CHARTER SCHOOL. SRA has 2 School Counselors that collaborate for our school. Minimum Qualifications: ¦ Valid California credential – Pupil Personnel Services Credential ¦ School experience is preferred ¦ A Master’s degree, representing intensive course work in the principles and practice of educational guidance; educational testing and measurements of student achievement; counseling; the organizational and administrations of guidance services; and the psychology of learning. Units acceptable to initial placement must have been earned subsequent to the B.A. degree. Units beyond Column I are semester units. Quarter units are converted to semester units on a scale of three (3) units to two (2) semester units. (Quarter Units x .667 = semester units.) Official transcripts will be requested as verification if selected for position.
Verification of years of service (step placement) - Credit will be given for up to five (5) years of verified full-time service. The Executive Director or designee may add years of experience as is related to the particular assignment. A year of experience is defined as 75% or more of a full-time service contract in one (1) school year. Credit will not be given for substitute or unpaid training or intern year. (Steps 1 – 15) Official verification of experience letter from previous school districts will be requested if selected for position.
