Job Summary

The Office of Language Acquisition has one full-time 10-month position to fill. This position will support as the K-12 English Language Instructional Resource Teachers (ELI-RT) for the Office of Language Acquisition (OLA) will plan and deliver professional development focused on the Common Core State Standards English Language Arts and Mathematics (CCSS), CA English Language Development (ELD) Standards, and the CA English Language Arts/English Language Development (ELA/ELD) Framework through a co-planning, co-teaching and/or co-facilitating model that supports the designing and teaching of Integrated and Designated English Language Development (ELD). They will work with district personnel, administrators, staff, teachers, student, and families to facilitate and coordinate different aspects of instructional strategies and services for students, specifically English learners. The K-12 ELI-RT will attend, plan, participate, and at times facilitate monthly site, cluster, and/or district Family and Community Engagement activities as well as district advisory events. The K-12 ELI-RT may lead and or prepare schools, teachers, and students with the supplemental support for the implementation and instructional expectation of annual state testing through a consultation model.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, or a Single Subject English Credential, or BCLAD. Credentials must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date of the application deadline. The position requires a minimum of three years teaching experience at the elementary/secondary level (K-12). Applicants should have a working knowledge of the CCSS, the CA ELD Standards, and CA ELA/ELD framework. Applicants must be familiar and able to use technology to access and create various El reports. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. It i s desirable for applicants to have experience in collaborative planning (PLCs), differentiated professional development, and delivery of classroom instruction. This position requires the applicant to travel to sites, professional development locations, workshops, and meetings. Fluency in more than one language is preferred.
