We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic Instructor located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Paramedic Instructor to teach and develop courses in Paramedics. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty members are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus classes, and online classes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Bachelor's degree AND Two (2) years of professional experience (attach transcripts); OR 2. An Associate's degree AND Six (6) years of professional experience (attach transcripts); AND 3. Currently licensed in the State of California as a Physician, Physician’s Assistant, Registered Nurse OR Paramedic (attach license); AND 4. Two (2) years of academic or clinical experience in emergency medicine or pre-hospital care in the last five (5) years; AND 5. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Bachelor's degree 2. A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in a field/clinical setting as an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic 3. Knowledge of: **Local County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) scope of practice and National EMS Education Standards **Current evidenced-informed clinical practices **California code of regulations Title 22, Division 9 **Local policies and procedures of Emergency Medical Services 4. Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency and evidence of equitable practices in one's teaching and college service
