Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) - Elementary at Natomas Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
Overall Function: The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) will specifically support teachers and students in ELA and Math literacy through a co-teaching, push-in model that supports identified targeted students on an ongoing basis. At the beginning of the school year, the TOSA will be assigned to a consistent schedule of specific grade spans, schools, and classrooms for the school year. In addition, TOSAs will be able to provide extended day intervention opportunities. TOSA schedules will be determined by site bell schedules and extended day needs. The focus through this work is to help students whose learning has been disrupted and to support our teachers in meeting the needs of students. Please see the job description for this position.

Qualifications Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years experience in teaching, possess a valid multiple subject credential and have demonstrated site and/or district leadership, experience as a presenter, familiarity with District-utilized curriculum and software (as well as an interest in learning about new resources), ability to work well and to collaborate with others, show initiative, flexibility, problem solving and organizational skills, and a desire to assist classroom teachers to implement targeted literacy instruction in English Language Arts and Math. This position requires lead-learners who are data-driven and comfortable moving our Board-approved theory into action in an ongoing cycle of continuous learning and inquiry. Experience with Culturally Relevant Teaching, working in highly functional PLCs environments as well as proficiency in technological presentation skills is highly desired. *Internal Candidates only please provide a Letter of Introduction and a Resume.
