Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision of the Director of Technology Innovation Services, manages student information systems of the Districts Information Technology Department, performs programming and computer server tasks for the District’s cloud and on-prem database servers; works closely with the IT team on issues relating to end-user connection to network services. Requires a thorough understanding of UNIX, Windows, and Apple systems and their services; and requires effective communication skills, attention to detail and high level problem-solving skills; provides technical support for a multiple platform environment.

Education and Experience: • Any combination equivalent to: a degree in computer science or the completion of college courses in and practical experience in computer programming, data analysis, and report preparation. Minimum (3) three years of experience with SQL data bases and servers • Fluency in MS Access and SQL query language • Knowledge of Canvas, Infinite Campus, and ASAP Connected in an administrative capability • Formal computer training (computer repair school, trade school, community college) with competencies in diagnostic tools, file management utilities, software tools, security applications and batch files experiences • Previous Unix, Windows and Apple server training preferred • SQL Core certification is desirable

Required: a cover letter, a resume and three (3) current letters of recommendation (within a year)
