OVERVIEW: San Diego Unified School District, the second largest district in California and one of the top largest urban school districts in the United States, is seeking a <b>Director, Special Education Equity and Access</b>. BASIC FUNCTION: The Director, Special Education will direct efforts in the development and implementation of program goals for special education support services including facilities planning and allocation, curriculum, and staff development; plan, organize, control and coordinate services provided by special education program managers and special education support programs; supervise and evaluate assigned certificated and classified personnel.

POSITION SPECIFICS: - Working Location is based out of the Special Education Equity & Access Office at the Education Center - 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103 - Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 248 Days / 12 months per year - Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents The Director, Special Education will be paid on the Non-Represented Certificated Managers Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 34.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination equivalent to: master’s degree supplemented by seven years of teaching and supervising experience in special education or as a school psychologist; a special education teaching credential is desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Administrative Services Credential authorizing service in grades K-12. Valid California driver’s license.
