Job Summary

We are looking for a Job Developer to work in and around the Los Angeles area. This opportunity is full-time at 40 hours per week. Our Job Developers provide administrative support to program directors, managers, coordinators, and support staff. This will include both front and back-office duties such as general reception, welcoming clients and staff, providing correspondence via phone and email, and maintaining clinic schedules and calendars.

Requirements / Qualifications

You will need the following minimum qualifications to be considered: Must be able to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 (and booster if eligible) High School Diploma 5 years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities and be enrolled in a college program toward a AA/BA degree, or have extensive experience in a related field and demonstrate exemplary skills in consumer/employer relationships and job development techniques. proficient in the use of modern office technology, equipment, and procedures including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, basic email, internet, and be able to learn and adapt to new systems and software. participate and complete CPI training and be able to utilize all aspects of this training within a classroom setting when necessary. demonstrates interest in furthering professional development and training experience with individual and/or families with exceptional needs. complete a mandatory in-house 3-week training program (Taking ChargeTM: Domains 1-3) Valid California Driver’s License. hold appropriate automobile insurance with limits that allow driving a personal vehicle for work (25/50k liability coverage) CPR/First Aid, health clearance required but can provide in-house CPR training. must clear a current background check through the FBI, DOJ, and CCL. pass a job-related health clearance. a current TB Test (within the last 2 months).

Preferred qualifications include: AA degree 3 years experience in vocational/rehabilitation, social services, or a related field, or be currently enrolled in a college program toward a BA degree and with extensive experience in a related field and demonstrate exemplary skills in consumer/employer relationships and job development techniques. bilingual in English/Spanish

As a Job Developer at IRL, you will: Determines consumers’ readiness for Individual or Direct Employment Placement Assists with the intake process of the client by assessing the individual’s strengths, weaknesses, skills, and abilities Develops and carries out job search activities for and with consumers which include, but are not limited to; running a job club, meeting with consumers individually, assisting with applications, and accompanying individuals on a job interview Makes weekly visits to the local Department of Rehabilitation Offices to meet with clients in a job search Communicate with DOR counselors and service coordinators regarding referrals, intakes, and any client concerns Develops monthly progress reports submitted to DOR Coordinates receipt of billing/ authorizations Coordinate annual job fair Coordinate with regional centers to create internship opportunities with potential employers Provide assessment of individual client’s employment skills and vocational interests, and helps to develop their short- and long-term vocational goals.
