For over forty years, KZV Armenian School has been providing an excellent bilingual, private education in the heart of San Francisco. KZV Armenian School is an accredited school that offers our students a rich educational and cultural foundation, an academically rigorous learning environment, and a keen sense of community. We are very proud of the nurturing, supportive family environment that each child experiences at KZV. We have a dedicated cadre of teachers and small classes (teacher-to-student ratio is 1:9 - the average class size is 9) to allow every child to be known and valued while partaking in a broad range of learning opportunities. We are currently looking for a qualified middle-school English Language Arts teacher for grades 6-8 with a minimum of two years of experience and a valid CA teaching credential. Must have strong classroom management skills, be a team player, work well with peers, and have a familiarity with the use of instructional technology.

Leadership Skills and Characteristics A Middle School ELA Teacher’s primary duties include: • Teaching middle school (6th – 8th) ELA – reading and writing • Fostering a positive classroom and school culture through use of schoolwide systems and • character education programs • Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs and low skill level • Ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members • Working collaboratively with other staff members to plan curriculum, to analyze student learning, to differentiate instruction and to build a positive culture across the school. • Ability to have strong classroom management skills • Maintain the school culture of high academic and behavioral expectations • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks • Ability to effectively handle challenging situations with students, parents, and faculty • Be able to work cooperatively with colleagues • Desire to work as a member of a collaborative team • Update grade books frequently and meet vital deadlines.
