Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required, and preference will be given for additional elementary school teaching experience, administrative, or supervisorial experience at the elementary level. Preference given to bilingual speakers, and expertise in vital programs within individual schools including, but not limited to, STEAM, Montessori, Dual Immersion, Waldorf, etc. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.

Caroline Wenzel Elementary School is part of the Sacramento City Unified School District, serving students from the diverse Greenhaven/Pocket neighborhoods. Caroline Wenzel’s mission is to create a quality education program through a variety of learning modalities to prepare students for the 21st Century. Caroline Wenzel Elementary School is a caring community of students, parents, and staff dedicated to educational excellence. Staff, parents, and students work to make Wenzel a place where students feel safe, where their voice is heard (Student Council, Peer Mediators), where they are recognized for citizenship, attendance, life skills and academic efforts and most of all a place to have FUN while learning! The culture and climate of Wenzel are built upon a frame of ethical leadership focused on the standards of commitment, duty, equity, integrity, ethical responsibility, and respect. Caroline Wenzel offers a number of programs and leadership opportunities for their students in all grade levels through peer mediation and student council and teaches SEL and life skills through an Ethos of Care.

• Implement Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and life skills within the classroom and school wide.
• Work with community partners to support the whole child and families.
• Develop programs that provide our students a wide range of positive experiences.
• Establish a school-wide focus on employing research-based instructional strategies and Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS).
• Facilitate and support with English Language Learners (ELL) program in both an integrated and designated approaches, and ensure students are provided a number of opportunities throughout the day to have their curricular needs met.
• Promote parent and community engagement that is centered on academic growth.
