About the Employer
The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.
Requirements / Qualifications
*POSITION PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS INSTRUCTIONAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING AIDE/DRIVER (SPECIAL EDUCATION)* Please carefully review the attached job description for minimum requirements. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direction of the teacher, the Instructional Support Associate – Vocational assists in carrying out vocational training plans for assigned students. Performs a variety of routine tasks in assisting students in vocational training assignments. Duties include setting up learning situations, issuing supplemental materials, and providing clerical support. Operates a motor/school transportation vehicle. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires a high school diploma or recognized equivalent and satisfactory results from a proficiency exam, plus one year of experience working with students in an educational or similar position. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Requires satisfactory results from a pre-employment strength and drug tests. Requires a valid California driver’s license. If using personal vehicle in the course of employment, must have proof of liability insurance required by law. DMV H-6 printout. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees in this position must comply with California Vehicle Code 34520.3, Motor Carrier and Driver Compliance with federal testing requirements. These requirements include random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident controlled substance and alcohol use testing. View attached job description for complete details.
