Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the Communications Manager serves as principal advisor providing comprehensive and proactive communications, strategies and planning, media relations, and news analysis to the Superintendent, Board of Education, Executive Leadership Team, and Site Leadership Teams. The Communications Manager is responsible for all SBUnified communications and works collaboratively with leaders and key stakeholders in planning and carrying out the vision for district communications, including internal communications, media relations, social media, external and internal websites, marketing, strategic communications and multicultural outreach and language services. The Communications Manager plans and conducts a broad information program concerning public education and all functions and services of the school system, so as to better articulate the appropriate messages.
