BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, administer language assessment and other standardized tests to students with home languages other than English; receive, distribute, collect and process testing materials; score tests and maintain cumulative student files; prepare and maintain related manual and automated records and reports.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Administer language assessment and other standardized tests to students with home languages other than English; administer assigned oral and written portions of exams including reading, writing, language structure and mathematics; oversee students being tested.
Receive, inspect, count, number, prepare and distribute testing materials according to established procedures; receive, organize and review completed testing forms and materials; prepare completed tests for processing and assure accuracy and completeness of required information.
Score assessment tests according to established procedures; record and update cumulative student files with test results; prepare test results for distribution and compose related correspondence; distribute test results to parents and appropriate school sites.
Input testing data and student information into an assigned computer system; generate a variety of computerized lists and reports; maintain automated records; assure accuracy of input and output information.
Prepare and maintain various records and reports related to student information, test results and assigned activities; establish and maintain filing systems.
Perform a variety of clerical duties related to assigned activities such as processing forms and applications, maintaining student lists and duplicating materials.
Operate a variety of office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
Communicate with District personnel and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns.
Assist with the annual reclassification of students with home languages other than English according to test results and established guidelines; assist in assuring testing activities and student placement comply with established regulations, policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels of testing materials; assist in ordering, receiving and maintaining inventory of testing materials.
Translate communications and materials related to assigned activities for parents, students and staff as required.

Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Graduation from High School or equivalent AND
• Two (2) years assisting in a classroom setting AND
• Two (2) years of study (48 units) from a recognized college or university OR possession of an Associate's degree OR meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal academic assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics.
• General clerical experience is desirable.
• Graduation from High School or equivalent AND
• Two (2) years assisting in a classroom setting AND
• Two (2) years of study (48 units) from a recognized college or university OR possession of an Associate's degree OR meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal academic assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics.
• General clerical experience is desirable.
