The district also offers an independent study program (Byron Institute of Independent Study) serving grades TK-8. JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Coordinator of Special Education and site Principal, the Behavioral Support Aide will provide support to all students, including but not limited to students with behavioral issues. The Behavioral Support Aide will implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans and effective behavior management strategies as developed by the District BCBA, but will also be able to implement Tier 1 and 2 strategies to support students struggling behaviorally who do not have individualized plans.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the Para Educator/Instructional Aide exam or have completed two years of study at an institute of higher education or have an Associates of Arts (AA) degree or higher. - Valid First Aid and CPR Certification required or must be able to obtain once employed
