Job Summary

The job of Information Systems Support Technician includes supporting ongoing activities and maintenance of the student information system (SIS) and other district resource application systems as assigned; providing technical training to site personnel who use SIS; resolving reports and data issues of SIS; maintaining SIS software and reporting capability.

Job-related experience within a specialized field is required, typically represented by a minimum of one year in the application of information systems applications software. Intermediate experience using Excel (such as using formulas, graphs, and pivot tables to present, compare, import, format, calculate and validate data).

This is an Open/Promotional-Dual Certification exam open to San Dieguito UHSD employees and external candidates. PLEASE NOTE: ***** EXAM components and weighting are subject to change pending restrictions due to COVID-19. ***** Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations: Multiple choice exam weighted at 20%, Performance examination weighted at 30% and Qualifications Appraisal Interview weighted at 50%. Candidates who pass all of the examinations are placed on an eligibility list that will be used to fill current vacancies and any future vacancies that occur within six months or until the list is exhausted. If a candidate has taken the multiple choice and/or performance test for this San Dieguito Union High School District job title or similar job title within the past two years, candidate may be able to transfer the scores to this recruitment. The exam must be sufficiently similar, as determined by the Director, Classified Personnel. Prior to the application deadline, a request to transfer score(s) should be e-mailed to: barbara.bass@sduhsd.net. Transferring of exam scores does not apply to the Qualifications Appraisal Interview. Veterans may be eligible for preference points on entrance examinations. Entrance is defined as candidates who are not current employees of the District.
