Basic Function:
Under the direction of the absent teacher of record, deliver lessons to instruct and assess secondary students in Career and Technical Education pathway classes in a variety of industry sectors: Automotive, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Education, Engineering, and Medical. Substitute teacher will follow lesson plans, provide instruction and assessment, manage classroom behavior and safety, and provide written feedback for teachers upon their return.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including those for project-based, experiential lessons.
- Provide group and individualized instruction that applies effective teaching strategies and utilizes a variety of technology, classroom materials, and equipment.
- Scaffold and differentiate instruction to support all students, including English Learners and students with special needs.
- Ensure student safety and manage classroom behavior in a manner conducive to learning.
- Provide student evaluations in the form of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate student records.
- Communicate professionally with students, faculty, and school staff.

Physical Requirements: Walking, talking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, hearing, reaching above the shoulders, ability to lift 25 lbs, and visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision).
