
PASS AmeriCorps Program Member - 2022/23 School Year at San Diego County Office Of Education
Requirements / Qualifications
Become an AmeriCorps Member and serve as a Full-time PASS AmeriCorps Mentor who manages a 30-student caseload; enrolling youth identified as at-risk in 30 designated partnering school sites during the 2022-23 school year at San Diego Unified, Oceanside, Vista, and Valley Center-Pauma School Districts, and one school in Escondido and Carlsbad. Program goals are designed to engage participating at-risk students in elementary, middle and high school (grades 3-12). Implement and maintain PASS AmeriCorps program model – individual/group mentoring, academic engagement, plan, organize and promote students in positive leadership and volunteer service projects at school site and in the community; collect/maintain student data/confidential records, daily program logs, develop individual student goal tracker to assess student improvement, provide in and out of classroom student assistance, collaborate with teachers and school admin, facilitate research-based curricula and character development sessions/activities, and participate in parent outreach. Mandatory Requirements: Must meet eligibility requirements and conditions, and be cleared to serve in program, including but not limited to: Minimum 22 years old, must have Associates degree or equivalent (proof of transcript required), must have own vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of car insurance. Required to complete SDCOE and AmeriCorps applications, signature required for PASS AmeriCorps Member commitment contract, all background check processes – fingerprinting, NSOPW clearance, and in-state criminal checks, (also out-of-state background check, if applicable), reference checks, TB testing. Full list of requirements provided to applicants selected to serve. Selected applicants that do not meet eligibility requirements will not be able to serve in the program. Benefits: School loan deferment, Education Award ($6,495 Segal Educational Award and a $3,505 California For All Educational Award for a total of $10,000) upon successful completion of Term of Service; Health benefits that meet ACA requirements; Monthly living allowance (Equal Installments from Sept to June) $20,000 (gross) 1st Year Member and $22,500 (gross) for 2nd Year Member, ongoing Professional Development, coaching and support through weekly/monthly meetings, additional trainings relevant to service; serve in school setting; letter of reference; Service is a PLUS on your resume.
