Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience working as a site supervisor in a large after-school program (90+ students). BA in Early Childhood Education or related field and a current Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or higher required. Master’s degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience working with children grades K-5 in a large after-school enrichment program with 90+ students. Ability to operate standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications i.e., Google workspace, Microsoft office, Zoom, etc; preparing and maintaining accurate records Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job including frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children. Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam CPR and First Aid Certified

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the day-to-day organization and operation of the program. Provide leadership in creating a high-quality youth program based on academic, social, and emotional needs of children ages 4-12 years old. Ability to problem solve, use good judgment, communicate effectively both verbal & written, set priorities and goals, resolve conflict and manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to clearly convey messages regarding organizational policies, procedures and practices. Ability to perform job duties with minimum supervision. Manage center financial, marketing and enrollment functions. Use Positive Discipline in classroom management techniques. Ensure the health and safety needs of the children are met and issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately. Create a classroom environment that helps young people develop positive relationships with peers and adults. Create an exciting and enriched environment connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences. Knowledge and experience with Desired Results Developmental Profile, SACERS, Project Based Learning, High Scope, Coding Curriculum, STEAM, and creating developmentally appropriate curriculum. Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community, and each other. Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development. Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction, and practicing good health habits Work collaboratively with other staff by role modeling workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player. Site Supervisor will be in a ratio to assist with breaks/absences. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Programs are open year-round Hours, schedules, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program.
