Job Summary
Under direction of the Senior Director for Information Systems, District Data Support Technician performs a variety of technical and analytical data integration as it relates to local Student Information System (SIS) and State California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS), requiring independent judgment and discretion. Provides support to Marin County Schools in the coordination the district's data submission to CALPADS and associated programs and databases; audits, certifies, and publishes student and staff information to CALPADS and other local, regional, state, and federal agencies; consults with and provides technical assistance to schools and central office administrators regarding student information analysis activities and reports; other special projects as assigned, and other related duties.
Requirements / Qualifications
Training, Education, and Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge and ability is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to either: Associate degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering or related fields. Or minimum of two years’ experience in computer network design and installation including providing access to the Internet through a domain server. Possesses a valid California Driver's License. Experience with business and financial software is desired. Knowledge of: Design and operation of computer networks and operating systems; Internet protocols, applications, and related technology. Effective training strategies; Installation and maintenance of networking hardware and software; Desktop and network security hardware, software, and procedures; Basic database operations; Standard English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; Advanced techniques in the use of administrative software applications.
