LBUSD Student Support Services Division is accepting applications for the position of Transformative SEL Culture and Climate Coach. Long Beach Unified School District is the fourth largest district in the State of California, serving a diverse student population. The Transformative SEL Culture and Climate Coach works to promote academic achievement and lifelong success for students by building schools’ capacity to cultivate safe and supportive learning environments through professional development and coaching. The Culture & Climate Coach will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide professional development, coaching and technical assistance to schools’ support staff (administration, counselors, psychologists, social workers, paraprofessionals and other support LBUSD staff) in developing and implementing systematic strategies and practices to promote positive climates and create stronger cultures of diversity, equity, and inclusion that address transformative social, emotional, and behavioral practices that enhance learning and capacity building. The Culture & Climate Coach will develop and facilitate effective training and coaching on tiered strategies that build the capacity of educators, administrators and support staff to improve climate and culture; build the social, emotional, and trauma-informed, healing centered competencies of adults and students; and increase understanding and implementation of culturally responsive practices. In support of the LBUSD Learning Acceleration and Support Plan and LBUSD mission and values, this position will work to build schools wide practices to foster respect, appreciation and value for all people.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements: *Hold Master’s Degree or higher (MSW) in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work or related field *Hold and maintain a valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential - School Social Work, School Counseling or School Psychology
