Requirements for Applying, All of the documents specified below must be attached to your application in order to be invited to our new hire orientation and be considered for employment. If you have not attached all the required documentation you will not receive an email invitation to the substitute new hire orientation . Materials - online application through edjoin.org - Current valid California teaching credential or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. - Copy of unofficial transcripts (BA/BS degree; copies of front and back) - California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) verification - Verification of "Clearing House" fingerprints through Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE). If you have not completed the fingerprints through VCOE, please contact them at 805-383-1914 for appointments and fees. If you do not have a copy of your Live Scan receipt, please attach a word document with the date you had your fingerprints done for subbing, our office will verify your clearance with the date you provide. - Tuberculosis (TB) test verification (no more than 4 years old) - Resume Upon being hired as a Substitute Teacher you will be asked to complete the Mandated Reporter Training, Preventing Sexual Harassment Training, Recognizing and Preventing Youth Suicide Training, Bloodborne Pathogen Safety and Sexual Misconduct in Schools training course through Vector Solutions.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CREDENTIAL AND NEED TO APPLY FOR A 30-DAY SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PERMIT, YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT VCOE (Ventura County Office of Education)at (805)383-1934. In order to be placed on our sub-list you will need to already have a valid credential or 30-day sub permit.

  • Copy of Transcript (BA/BS Transcript)
  • Credential Copy (30-day Sub Credential or Teaching Credential)
  • Other (Verification of "Clearing House" fingerprints through Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE))
  • Resume
  • TB Screening Result (TB has to be within the last 4 years)
  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST Scores)
