Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Executive Director serves as a key instructional leader for the district; provides leadership and accountability for the District’s academic services as well as academic performance of all schools; drives the educational performance of the district, provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the District’s curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement initiatives, oversees the professional development for teachers and administrators, and supervises the operational management of assigned Education Services Departments.

Requirements / Qualifications

• A valid California Administrative Services Credential • Master’s degree in from an accredited college/university, preferably in educational administration or related field • Doctorate degree with specialization in the field of curriculum & instruction or related field is desirable • Five years of successful teaching experience • Three years of successful administrative or supervisory experience • Possession of personal qualities essential for leadership and teamwork that instills confidence from school patrons, the Board of Education and the community • Successful experience working with a diverse student and community population, with an emphasis on English Learners and low income students
