Job Summary
ACOE Division of Student Programs and Services provides alternative educational options through court, community, and charter school programs for special populations of students across Alameda County. School programs include the following: • Court Schools for students who are detained at Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center or residents of Camp Wilmont Sweeney; • Community Schools, including Independent Studies for students who are expelled, on Probation, or referred by districts or SARB; • Parenting Teen Programs for students who are pregnant or parenting • Opportunity Academy for students age 16 and older who are reengaging in high school, desire a high school diploma, and would benefit from employment readiness and obtaining employment. Current openings include teaching positions at Butler Academic Center Court School in San Leandro. Teaching hours at Butler Academic Center are 8:00-3:15. ACOE Teachers have opportunities throughout their career at ACOE to work in various settings within our portfolio of school programs. Our Teachers often teach in self-contained settings that require multiple or all subjects to be taught. ACOE will provide support for Teachers to earn ERWC Certification in order to teach our board adopted ELA curriculum. ACOE will also provide support for Teachers to earn CTE credentials in order to teach CTE electives as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credential - Valid CLEAR California K-12 Teaching Credential. - EL/CLAD Authorization HIGHLY DESIRABLE: - Compliant in at least two secondary content areas - Special Education Credential desired - CTE or willingness to obtain CTE required - ERWC Certification or willingness to become certified required. - CPR and First Aid certificate required. - Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record
