Job Summary

The Lawndale Elementary School District is hiring for a Hybrid Classroom Teacher position for the 2022-23 school year. Under the direction of the Hybrid Assistant Principal, assigned site Principal, Director and/or Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, this hybrid position is designed to support students in an Independent Study Program or other programs as needed. The assigned work duties take place within the school and classroom setting. Located in the Heart of the South Bay, the Lawndale Elementary School District (LESD) serves students from preschool through grade eight. There are eight schools in the District: six elementary schools serve Kindergarten through grade five (William Anderson, William Green, Billy Mitchell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lucille J. Smith, and Mark Twain) and two middle schools serve grades six through eight (Jane Addams Middle School and Will Rogers Middle School). The district also has a before and after school program (RAP - Realizing Amazing Potential), a Preschool program, a TK program, a Spanish dual-language immersion program, and is the administrative unit for the Southwest Special Education Local Plan Area (SW SELPA).

Bilingual in Spanish and completion of one full year of successful experience as a Classroom Teacher in a public setting is preferred/desired. Current LESD Certificated employees can submit a reassignment request form (with current resume and two letters of recommendation preferred) to the District Office by the closing date and time. Substitute Certificated employees must apply through Edjoin.org.
