Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill a vacancy for an Operations Distribution Worker in the Maintenance and Operations Department. Under limited supervision, the Operations Distribution Worker performs a variety of duties related to the receipt, storage, inventory control, distribution and delivery of warehoused materials, supplies and equipment; sorts and processes outgoing mail for delivery and transport to U. S. Post Office on a regular basis; sorts and delivers incoming mail; operates computer, using specialized software, to prepare mail and packages for delivery, tracks packages via Internet, inputs data for billing, accounting and inventory control purposes; and prepares, delivers, operates and makes minor repairs and adjustments to audiovisual equipment. This position is full-time and will offer the classified support benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system.
Requirements / Qualifications
The Operations Distribution Worker position requires one year of related experience in a stock room or warehouse and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate knowledge of digital inventory control systems, and procedures and practices used in modern automated warehouses, including receipt, storage, inventory control and disbursement of supplies and equipment. This position also requires, at time of hire, a valid CA driver's license, and the ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Previous experience using software to maintain inventory records, purchase requisitions, and mailing software strongly preferred
