Job Summary
This position is located in the Communications and Family Engagement Department referred to as CAFE and serves as a member of the management team to support, coordinate, and execute the various areas of responsibility for the department including community outreach/partnerships, family engagement, student voices, afterschool/mentoring programs, marketing/branding, and special events. The candidate should be able to work on multiple projects at one time, take direction to learn and grow, provide unique ideas and input, and develop and execute plans using project management skills to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner and by the deadline. This is a team-oriented environment with events, meetings, and workshops that may occur outside traditional workday :schedule, so flexibility is a must. While it’s a team-oriented environment, the person should be able to work independently without constant supervision to move the work of the team forward. The person would report directly to the Executive Director of the department and work closely with the other management and support staff in the department, and staff in other departments and school sites, students, parents, and community members.

The CAFE Department covers Communications, Expanded Learning, Parent Engagement, Community Partnerships, Healthy Youth Act, and Youth Workforce. The mission is to positively elevate NUSD students through successful communications, diverse engagement, strong community partnerships, and access to enriching programs/resources that directly support the district’s vision and goals. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major in education, education administration, public administration or a related field that would be applicable to assigned department(s). Experience:Three years of increasingly responsible experience in related field, preferably in a public education setting. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Valid California Driver’s License
