Job Summary
Job Summary
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Graphic Design Instructor teaches and trains high school students in the areas of visual communications, design, art history, design theory, techniques, and related computer systems and software. The instructor will also prepare students for entry-level employment in positions such as layout artist, graphic artist, desktop publisher and production artist, or for advanced studies at the post-secondary level. Relevant industry certification (OSHA) training will also be incorporated in the program.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience/Training/Education: High school diploma is required, AA or BA degree is desirable. candidates without an existing CTE teaching credential, you must have a minimum of three years of recent, verifiable work experience in the Arts, Entertainment, and Media industry with industry in Design. This may make you eligible for a valid California Designated Subjects Teaching Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter. A college degree in a related field may substitute for some work experience. L.A. County Office of Education’s Designated Subjects Credentialing program may assist you with getting the credential application started.
