The Director I/Principal holds the educational vision for Alameda County Office of Education’s (ACOE) Community Schools, including programs designed for expelled, foster youth, and probation referred students. We are looking for an educator who possesses an unrelenting belief that all students can achieve; a partner who is fully invested in multi-systems collaborative change; a leader who will make a difference in shaping long-term outcomes for our most vulnerable students. Under the supervision of the Chief of Schools the Director I/Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership for the ACOE Quest Academy, an independent studies program with three locations, and provides support across the Division of Student Programs and Services as needed. The Director I/Principal leads educational efforts in alignment with the ACOE Vision and Mission while partnering with multiple agencies and community partners dedicated to building effective educational programs and achieving equitable outcomes for our youth.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid Clear California Teaching Credential. Valid Clear Administrative Credential Have a minimum of five years’ experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or serving vulnerable populations. Exhibit the ability to articulate a vision of excellence for a school community and to create and maintain the support structures necessary to achieve the vision under challenging circumstances. Have experience and a commitment to meeting the needs of all students, including students with significant learning gaps and special education needs.
