Summary: Instructs students in one or more subjects by performing essential teaching duties, assuring that the mission of the schools is supported. Models a servant’s heart and promotes an attitude of respect, teamwork and professionalism by speaking well of other faculty and staff members; supporting our entire school system-lower school, middle school, upper school; praying for and with other faculty and staff; encouraging others in Godly living and excellence; lovingly holding others accountable; actively pursuing ways to encourage members of the schools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) • Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations • Carries out the course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the school • Assigns the lessons and homework, quizzes, tests, projects, etc. • Keeps attendance records • Maintains discipline in classroom and demonstrates effective classroom management skills • Communicates with administration to discuss student progress and problems • Performs related duties such as recess and after school monitoring, small group leadership outside of the classroom, sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.
