Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill a vacancy for an Accounting Analyst in the Internal Business department of the Business Services division. Under general supervision, the Accounting Analyst performs a variety of complex analytical and technical duties to assist with the effective management, implementation, and maintenance of budget and accounting activities for SDCOE programs, including maintaining general, income and expenditure ledgers for restricted programs and preparing a variety of complex and comprehensive fiscal and budget reports. The Analyst will also plan and coordinate training programs for SDCOE staff on financial and accounting-related processes and procedures. This position is full-time and will offer the classified support benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and participates in the CalPERS state retirement system.
Requirements / Qualifications
The Accounting Analyst position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of college-level course work in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field and two (2) years experience involving computerized accounting systems performing comparable duties and responsibilities. School district and PeopleSoft experience preferred. This position requires advanced MS Excel skills to manage and analyze complex financial data, and knowledge of accounting and accounts payable principles and procedures.
