QUALIFIED - EXPERIENCED TEACHER
LOCATION: LOOMIS, CA
Start Date: OCTOBER 2014 OR UNTIL FILLED
The Teacher is responsible to the Director/Site Supervisor or designee. Must be professional, friendly and experienced.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* To provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for children, parents and staff.
* Implement developmentally appropriate activities for 3 to 5 year old children.
* Understand and use positive guidance techniques with children
* Conduct individual observations, assessments and developmentally appropriate activities.
* Plan, organize and execute daily lesson plans for individual class and as a team.
* Initiate request for supplies, materials and equipment for effective implementation of child centered activities.
* Attend all staff meetings as scheduled and required and participate as contributing member
* Coordinate and attend parent meetings and conferences
* Coordinate and conduct parent meetings, orientations and workshops.
* Complete job-related paperwork, assessments, lesson plans and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
* Maintain communication with parents, both written and verbal, through monthly newsletters, weekly reports, telephone calls, one-on-one meetings and maintain confidentiality in all communications.
* Maintain positive relationship between children, parents, staff and community.
* Communicate in an effective, positive and tactful way to children, parents and staff.
* Maintains a spirit of cooperation in all working relationships.
* Provides input for staff evaluations.
* Works effectively as a team member and contributes in a dedicated, honest and effective manner.
* Mentor and evaluate college students who are enrolled in child development courses.
* Knowledge of Title 22 Rules and Regulations and ability to uphold the standards and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least;
* 24 ECE UNITS. MUST BE IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT, HUMAN DEVELOPMENT OR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM.
* 2 years experience
* Mentor teacher experience or have the experiences and background to perform the necessary duties as mentor teacher.
* Have or qualify for Master Teacher Permit
* Have or ability to obtain within 6 months infant/child/adult CPR and first aid.
* Background Clearance
* Health Screening and TB clearance
Continued employment contingent upon successful completion of above requirements

*Knowledge of proper English usage and ability to effectively communicate with parents, children and staff.
* Knowledge of the ECRS and ability to maintain a developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive environment for the families who are enrolled.
* Desire and ability to promote a team environment among and with staff.

Candidates must have experience working in a developmental preschool program utilizing best practices in child development. To be determined after interview. The Teacher must be professional, friendly, positive and a dedicated member of our team. Must be a good communicator with an ability to promote positive relationships between children, parents and staff. * Must qualify for the Master Teacher Permit or have the ability to apply after employment. * Must have or be able to obtain fingerprint clearance * Must have or be able to obtain a good health screening and TB clearance *Must have experience working in a developmental preschool using the High/Scope philosophy or active learning program *Must have experience assessing children's development using either the COR assessment or Desired Results screening tool. * Must be a child advocate and make decisions based on the needs and best interest of children. * Must be an individual looking to build a career within our organization with an emphasis on building positive relationships with staff, children and the families enrolled.
