Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required, and preference will be given for additional elementary school teaching experience, administrative, or supervisorial experience at the elementary level. Preference given to bilingual speakers, and expertise in vital programs within individual schools including, but not limited to, STEAM, Montessori, Dual Immersion Waldord, etc. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required. Please note that all employees in the Sacramento City Unified School District must meet the District’s vaccination requirement which states that ALL employees must either be vaccinated prior to February 28, 2022 or have an approved exemption on file. Sloat’s mission is to provide a welcoming and safe community where students are empowered to demonstrate self-awareness, self-control, and empathy to achieve their personal best socially and academically. John D. Sloat offers a number of programs and leadership opportunities for their students in all grade levels: Early Kinder, Green Team, Leaders of Tomorrow, Music, Peer Mediators, and Student Council. John D. Sloat features the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) and SEL frameworks to support the needs of all students and staff.
