Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credential: Current valid Basic Pupil Personnel Services credential, Personnel Services Counseling Credential, Pupil Personnel Services Social Work Credential, or Pupil Personnel Services School Psychologist Credential; Education: Master's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred) Current and valid license with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences; LCSW with the ability to provide clinical supervision to an Associate Social Worker/ASW (preferred) Experience: Two years successful experience as a counselor, social worker, or psychologist in PK-12 schools or in a youth/family services setting (preferred); Extensive experience working with diverse student populations; (preferred); Extensive experience with mental health and intervention programs for youth/families (preferred); Experience collaborating with county and community agencies (preferred) Other: Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) Please click "View Job Description" for further details & example of duties.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Student and Family Support Services, the Student Support Specialist will provide oversight, training, education, program development and support for school site specific student intervention, prevention, and wellness efforts to enhance student wellness, mental health, and to close the opportunity gap. Collaborates with the site administrators, counselors, and staff to implement tiered interventions through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) for all students with a focus on the mental health and wellness of English Learners, Low Income Students, Foster Youth, McKinney-Vento Youth, and unaccompanied youth.
